Allan was born in the town of Paisley near Glasgow, Scotland. Growing up and educated in Glasgow, he was licensed and ordained by the Glasgow Presbytery of the Free Church of Scotland in 1989. Allan began his ministry in Toronto in 1997 at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church.  Their congregation joined the RPCNA in 2015, and then along with all the other Canadian congregations, became a part of the RPCC when it was formed in May 2023. 

 

Throughout Allan’s 27 years in Toronto, the congregation has seen many families come and go because of the cost of living in the area. However, the Lord continues to bless their ministry by bringing them members from many ethnic backgrounds.  Over the years the congregation has been involved in providing many ESL classes as well as supporting the Pregnancy Care Centre.

 

As the congregation looks forward to celebrating their 100th year in 2028, Allan says that he has been privileged to see his church members reach life milestones such as marriage and parenthood.  Allan’s own family has grown up in Toronto.  He and his wife Alison were blessed with four children: Mark, Rebekah, Chloe and Abigail and they are now expecting the arrival of their seventh grandchild.  May the Lord continue to bless Allan and Alison in their ministry to the Toronto Reformed Presbyterian Church for many years to come.
